Welcome to the Very Best

Legacy Schools is an academic institution in Kitale, Kenya that boasts of great academic excellence, cleanliness and a pillar in the growth of childhood spiritual growth. We hope to hear from you soon!

An ideology is an idea one has. Two can have the same idea but the opinions may differ. Thanks be unto God for this did not happen with Maj. General (Rtd.) and Mrs. Muttai who had that one opinion and converted it into Legacy Schools. The idea of starting a school came as a vision to the Muttai family. The family encountered several children who were not blessed with good education due to lack of school fees, or good schools without the children's needs in mind. The family discussed how to help other people use their potentials to prosper in life. We then decided to start a Christian school where character and morals are taught.

Brief History

The School opened doors on 8th January 2001 with thirteen children. The staff then consisted of two primary school teachers, three E.C.D teachers and a receptionist. The school has realized astronomical growth of over 600% within the last 9 years! The current number of students attending the school is in the mid 900's. The amount of teaching and non-teaching staff has grown tremendously to over sixty.

The foundation stone was laid by Hon. Henry Kosgei E.G.H, MP then the Minister of Education, Science and Technology on 12th April 2002. The school was then dedicated by Rev. Silas Yego quoting Solomon's wise sayings in Proverbs 1:7, ….The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.

The school is located off Cheranganyi road about 6 Kilometers from Kitale Town right opposite Naisambu Primary School.

Recent News

Legacy School once again topped in the ranking of top schools in Kitale Municipality. Over the past 4 years we have seen over 60% of the candidates enroll in National or Provincial Schools. It is our goal to continue improving every year and standing by our motto "The Very Best!"

2010 Development Goals

There are two main projects we are running for the most part of 2010.

1. BATHROOMS EXPANSION: We seek to expand the bathrooms for both dormitories and restore the older ones. This is due to the increased number of boarding students.

2. RAIN HARVESTING : During the rainy seasons, we waste too much water from the gutters and overflowing tanks. We could collect as much as 100,000 liters of rain water for general use that could reduce the use of the borehole which can get expensive to maintain at times.
